I stumbled upon a uniquely colored rock in a planter near the entrance of the Sheraton Airport Hotel in Albuquerque, NM, and picked it up as my kids love rocks, especially unique ones. Then, I saw it's part of a larger project, and felt how serendipitous that I could return it to a place that Ryan was so fond of -- Washington State, specifically Chehalis, WA. For now, it will live amongst my kids' rock collection, but at some time in the future, I will release it back into the wild, perhaps in one of the coastal towns on the West Coast.
